Control Freak Cold Room · Monitor only

Know when your
cooler is out of temp.

Wired probes watch your walk-ins and reach-ins.
A kitchen buzzer and phone push tell you when
a reading stays too warm.

Sound familiar?

Keep an eye on the cold, even after closing.

The cooler warmed while nobody was looking.

A reading above its limit for longer than your delay raises an alert. Know which cooler needs a look.

The phone never made a sound.

The kitchen buzzer works without internet. Included backup power keeps the controller and your router running through a power cut, so alerts still go out while your internet service is up.

Another sensor needs a battery.

Four wired probes watch the walk-in, freezer and reach-ins. A disconnected probe raises its own alarm.

How it works

Four readings. One place to check.

Place the probes

Mount the controller outside the cooler and route the wired probes through the door gaskets. Name each space.

Set limits and a delay

Choose a temperature limit and alarm delay for each cooler. Short door openings and defrost cycles need not cry wolf.

Hear when it needs attention

Rules run on the controller. Get alerts by push, text, email or alarm. A Wi-Fi or internet drop changes nothing about the local rules.

What makes it different

A kitchen alarm that stays in the kitchen.

A buzzer staff can hear

The local buzzer sounds when a reading stays out of range. No internet connection is needed for the buzzer.

A history you can act on

Every probe is logged on the controller. After a power cut or a cooler that quietly failed overnight, see how long each one sat above 41°F before anything is served. Backup power keeps the readings going through a power cut. If it ever runs out, the missing time is shown as a gap, never filled in.

One complete kit of its own

Controller, sensors, kitchen buzzer and backup power together. No subscription. It can also run from a Pool controller’s spare outputs.

What’s included

Ready to watch your cold rooms.

Controller and plug-in supply

A controller with Home Assistant built in, local rules and local logs.

Four wired probes

Four temperature probes, two buffer bottles and two door contacts. No probe batteries to replace.

Kitchen buzzer and cables

The kitchen buzzer and the connections this product uses. Your refrigeration equipment stays as it is.

Backup power

A small UPS for the controller and your internet router, so readings, the buzzer and alerts keep going through a power cut. How long depends on your router and the outage.

Home Assistant

Your kitchen, in the same place as the rest.

Home Assistant built in

See Cold Room readings alongside your other connected equipment. Each Control Freak product is a complete kit on its own.

Rules stay on the controller

Temperature delays, probe checks and the local buzzer keep working through a Wi-Fi or internet drop.

Choose how to hear

Push, text, email or alarm. Phone alerts need internet. No subscription.

Honest limits

It watches. You decide what happens next.

Monitor only

Cold Room does not run or repair refrigeration. It cannot guarantee food condition or prevent a loss.

Power and internet matter

Phone alerts need your internet service to stay up. The included backup power runs the controller and router for a limited time and does not keep the coolers cold. If an outage outlasts the battery, the missing time is logged as a gap.

Not a health inspection record

The temperature history is a monitoring aid. This is not a health inspection record and does not replace your required checks.

Try it yourself

A warmer cooler. A clear alert.

Change a mode, try a probe fault and choose your notifications. All readings are simulated.
