Control Freak Irrigation, brought to you by Control FreakConcept

The yard should not need babysitting

You should hear about it before you get home.

The water won't stop.

A zone closes, but the water keeps moving. The planned Pro flow sensor and installed master valve detect that flow, shut the master valve and send an alert.

It failed while you were away.

The beds were scheduled to run. They never got water. Pro checks for a zone that did not start, so silence is not your only clue.

The Wi-Fi or the app went down.

Watering should not stop with it. Schedules run on the controller, even without internet or Wi-Fi. Remote alerts still need a connection.

How it works

One controller. A Yard tab. Your whole backyard.

Keep Pool and Yard together in the same app, or choose a standalone kit for your Home Assistant home.

  1. 01

    Start at the pool pad

The add-on works with your Control Freak pool controller. Standalone puts a dedicated controller where your zone wires end.

  2. 02

    Connect your yard

Zone wires connect to your 24 V AC valves. A rain sensor lead enables rain skip; an outdoor air probe enables freeze skip.

  3. 03

    Test, then schedule

Name and run each zone at setup. Set days, minutes and cycle and soak. Up to 8 zones on standalone, one zone at a time.

  4. 04

    Open the Yard tab

Run a zone, skip today or adjust the season by percent. Your schedule stays on the controller.

What makes it different

Your minutes. Your schedule. Your control.

Water on your terms

Set the minutes yourself. Cycle and soak breaks watering into shorter runs so water has time to soak in. Seasonal adjust changes all run times by percent.

Sensors in your yard

Rain skip responds to your rain sensor. Freeze skip responds to the outdoor air probe. No weather feed rewrites your program.

Every feature included

No subscription or paid software unlocks. The Pro flow sensor and master valve are separate hardware options.

Let someone else run it

Family and gardeners can run a zone from the controller or a Home Assistant dashboard on your home network. They do not need your phone.

Know when water moves wrong

The planned Pro add-on checks for flow after a zone closes and no flow when a zone should run. Requires a flow sensor and installed master valve.

An alert you will notice

Choose push, text, email or alarm, and alerts through Home Assistant. Remote delivery depends on a working connection.

What's included

Already have our pool controller? Add the yard.

For Control Freak pool owners

Irrigation add-on

  • Yard tab beside Pool in the same app
  • Zone connection harness
  • Rain sensor lead
  • Zone programs and seasonal adjust

Available zones depend on your pool installation. Check your setup before choosing the add-on.

For Home Assistant owners

Standalone kit

  • Dedicated controller with Home Assistant built in
  • Outdoor enclosure kit and 24 V AC supply
  • Up to 8 zones, one zone at a time
  • Zone connections and rain sensor lead

A complete yard controller. A pool controller is not required.

Your valves, sprinklers and zone wiring are not included. Rain skip requires a connected rain sensor. Freeze skip requires an outdoor air probe. Pro flow sensing and a master valve are separate options.

Home Assistant built in

How many apps do you open to run your backyard?

Pool and Yard meet in one app. Home Assistant brings your irrigation and the rest of your smart home together on your home network.

Watering does not wait for the dashboard.

Schedules run on the controller, even when Home Assistant is down. Use Home Assistant to run zones, see status and include irrigation alerts in your own automations.

Remote access and remote notifications need a connection. The watering schedule does not.

Options and honesty

Know what you are choosing.

Pro flow protection is an option.

A flow sensor and installed master valve are required to catch a zone still flowing after close, detect a zone that did not start, and shut the master valve. These are planned capabilities shown in the simulation, not tested hardware performance claims.

Sensor skips, not a forecast.

No weather forecast scheduling, WaterSense certification or rebate claims. You set the schedule. Rain and freeze skips use sensors at your home.

Check your valves and installation.

For 24 V AC valves, not battery DC latching valves. Up to 8 zones on standalone, one at a time. A 240 V well pump requires an installer and suitable pump control equipment.

Interactive demo · Simulation

Try the Yard tab.

Run a zone, skip today, change the season or try a simulated stuck valve. Every value is an example. No login or connected equipment.
